Vanguard Voices
Vanguard Voices is a 70-voice, adult mixed choir based in Dearborn, Michigan, USA. Its artistic director is G. Kevin Dewey, who founded Vanguard Voices in 1992.
The auditioned group, whose members’ experience ranges from music professionals to dedicated amateur choristers, holds weekly rehearses in preparation for a season of three to six concerts. Vanguard Voices performs a cappella as well as with its own Vanguard Brass Ensemble, area orchestras and other choral groups. Its repertoire spans the musical spectrum from Gregorian chant to jazz. |
Vanguard Voices is sponsored by the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department and is choir-in-residence at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, where G. Kevin Dewey is a member of the music faculty.
The home performance venue for Vanguard Voices is the acoustically-acclaimed, 1,201-seat Michael A. Guido Theater, built in 2001. The group also performs in area churches and auditoriums.
