Vanguard Voices sincerely appreciates donations received from
friends of choral music. These funds, along with proceeds from special fundraising
concerts, are a valuable supplement to our operating budget and enable us
to fund exciting artistic projects.
Vanguard Premieres
Vanguard Voices brings new choral music to the world by commissioning new
compositions and through the Vanguard Premieres choral composition contest.
Established and emerging composers are recognized through cash awards and
a premiere performance of their work by Vanguard Voices.
CD Production
Recording is under way for three exciting Vanguard Voices CDs. The first,
due for release this season unites Vanguard Voices and the Vanguard Brass
Ensemble in Norman Dello Joio's Mass. Standout compositions from the
Vanguard Premieres choral composition contest will comprise a second recording
while Christmas favorites will be featured on the third CD.
Instrumental Musicians and Facilities
Many Vanguard Voices concerts, rehearsals and recording sessions require extra
funds for hiring instrumental musicians. For example, presenting and recording
major works such as Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem and Mozart's Requiem
require the engagement of musicians, instruments and facilities.
Concert Tours
Vanguard Voices is planning a 2007 concert tour of Italy and Switzerland.
Extra funds partially offset travel costs.
Financial donations by friends of Vanguard Voices to the HFCC Foundation are
gratefully received and are tax deductible. Vanguard Voices is sponsored by
the Dearborn Recreation Department and is choir-in-residence at Henry Ford
