Vanguard Voices is a 65-voice, adult mixed choir based in
Dearborn, Michigan, USA. Its artistic director is
G. Kevin Dewey, who founded Vanguard
Voices in 1992. The auditioned group, whose members' experience ranges from
music professionals to dedicated amateur choristers, maintains a full performance
schedule from September to June each year. Weekly three-hour rehearsals prepare
the group for a season of five to seven concerts. Vanguard Voices performs
a cappella as well as with its own Vanguard
Brass Ensemble, area orchestras and other choral groups. Its repertoire
spans the musical spectrum from Gregorian chant to jazz. The home performance venue for Vanguard Voices is the acoustically-acclaimed, 1,201-seat Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, built in 2001. The group also performs in area churches and auditoriums.
